HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY SESSION?

If you are able, a warm bath or shower prior to your session is a great way to prepare for your massage. Use of the restroom is recommended before your session since massage tends to flush excess fluids from your system.


WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING A TYPICAL SESSION?

If you are a new client, you will first be asked to complete a medical history form so that we can better address your needs.

Different types of massage require different levels of undress. For example, techniques utilizing more stretching and passive joint movements are usually done fully clothed, while modalities utilizing lubricants such as Swedish and circulatory massage, are generally done with as little clothing as possible. In any case, you will always be covered appropriately, with only the area worked on being exposed. Massage can always be admistered fully clothed if that is what is most comfortable for you.

Once the session is underway, you will be encouraged to communicate your preference as to more or less pressure, more or less heat, etc to ensure your optimum level of comfort. It is recommended however, that conversation be kept to a minimum so that you can relax and gain more benefits from the session. This is your chance to totally relax, and we want you to take full advantage of it!


WHO WILL BE MY THERAPIST?

If this is you first visit with us, we will try to determine what sort of massage is right for you. Preferences as to scheduling your session with either a male or female therapist are always respected.



HOW WILL I FEEL AFTER MY SESSION?

Depending upon the type of work you received and your condition at the time of your visit, you may feel some after effects in the days following your session. In most cases, people report significant and immediate relief from muscle tension and discomfort. We often hear of improved sleep patterns, greater sense of ease and relaxation lasting several days after the session. At times, you may feel some soreness as a result of work focusing on deeper tissues. This usually subsides within 24-48 hrs.


WHAT SHOULD I DO TO MAXIMIZE THE BENEFITS AFTER MY SESSION?

It's always a good idea to drink plenty of water following your session to assist in the internal flushing and cleansing process.
